6.07 miles, 1:04:22
My Nike+ app continues to be a jerk; it’s not clear why something can trace my route via GPS but not actually then know how far I’ve run (it’s still about a third of a mile off). So no pace information or per-mile breakdown or anything. Which is a shame, since I’d sort of like to know when I’m running faster than other times and so on.
Anyway, six miles! It was lukewarmish, hazy and a bit humid even by the lake. Not the most pleasant run. I got a stitch again and had to walk for a little while (thirty seconds?) to get it out, twice, but other than that ran steadily. It felt like I was moving slowly the whole time, no surge of energy after the first mile or so like often happens, but I guess it wasn’t too bad. I’m pleased that I managed it in less than 1:06, since it means my pace was under 11’/mile; I’ve got a long way to go and no way of knowing how hard it will be to keep my pace up after, you know, eighteen miles with eight to go, but I have to average out under 12’/mile in order to finish the race in October. Oy.
Also I finished the run and moved to walk up the stairs to my porch and my knees were like what is happening so I’m looking forward to biking tomorrow and resting Monday. Dear knees: please don’t die.
